Getting Krunk For Christ

So on Saturday night my lovely wife Kim and I went with a friend to see him rap at a local church. As we were there I heard the "pastor" say let's get krunk for Christ. OMG I can not believe that people would really say that about our great King or Kings. How can people really say something like that and then say that they serve the same God that I do?

I am so sick of hearing people say that "Jesus is my homeboy" and" krunk for Christ". Jesus is not a toy that we get to make look cool.

He died on cross because we suck and He is righteous. So what is your deal? How do you see our God. Do you love and worship Him like you were standing in front of his throne or do you get Krunk for Christ?
Just to make you think.

  1. I think it's a different way of saying the same thing. Schools in California translate classic Shakespeare into Ebonics because it's the only way to teach the kids. To some people, the message is lost, but the purpose is still there.

  2. Don't you think you are being judgmental here? A little bit racist too, perhaps, since the phrase "get crunk" is commonly used in the black community. Look, one man's meat is another's poison. Being fired up, getting crunk, getting excited all mean about the same. Using colloquial words doesn't make you irreverent. Remember that phrases can have multiple meanings. Getting crunk can be used to mean getting high on drugs or just simply getting excited, fired up. How do you know which way the pastor meant it? And if you don't know, why be so quick to write a blog about it?

  3. The word "crunk" was originally a made up word to mean "crazy drunk." I think that is why a lot of people tend to be offended by that. It can also mean getting pumped up or excited, as you have said, but that was the original meaning.
